Description
The VFL B5 pen is a 650 nm laser-based visual fault locator designed for the rapid detection of breaks, bends, and faulty splices in single-mode and multimode fiber-optic links. Essential for FTTH construction, network maintenance, and the production and R&D of optical components.
Constant-current laser diode for a stable, sharp red beam—defects are visible directly through the jacket.
Models B5-05, B5-10, B5-15, B5-20, and B5-30 — choose the appropriate range (5 to 30 km of fiber).
Compatible with SC, FC, and ST connectors as standard. Optional LC adapter available for high-density connections.
Works on 9/125 µm single-mode and 50/125 or 62.5/125 µm multimode fiber — a single tool for all job sites.
1,800 mAh lithium — up to 40 hours of runtime on the B5-05, 11–12 hours on high-power versions. USB recharge in ≤ 5 hours.

Rotating elevation laser head: opening the cover = automatic power-on
The B5 uses a rotating elevation laser head: simply turn the knob clockwise to extend the laser and turn it on, and counterclockwise to retract it and turn it off — no dedicated ON/OFF button; the mechanism protects the diode when the tool is not in use.
Cut detection: red light emits when the sheath is severed

Laser safety: Never look directly at the beam output or point it at a person. Cover the tip with the dust cap after each use. Clean the 2.5 mm connector with a dedicated fiber optic swab.
